Holiday Nails

so the holidays and my new years eve bash planning has been completely swamping me, i just wanted to hop on here and do a super quick post on my nail looks over the past two weeks.

for this manicure i did a silver and gold ombre holiday nail. i used Sally Hansons Xtreme Wear Polish in Celeb City.
then i concentrated Sephora by OPI's Looks Like Rain, Dear towards the tip of my nail and tried to sheer it down towards the middle.for some reason the camera didnt pick up the ombre effect as well as it looks like it person. it seems that there is a harsh line between the silver and gold - but there isnt.
then, for added sparkle chunkage, i put a coat of Sephora by OPI's Only Gold For Me over Looks Like Rain, Dear.

next look i went for was the chirstmas lights manicure!!! **please excuse my HORRIFIC cuticles, between the cold air, hand sanitizer, and acetone...they are taking a beating -- if any one has any suggestions, let me know! im constantly using hand lotion.**
i first used Sephora by OPI's Havana Dreams and then i took a white polish and scraped as much polish off the brush as possible. then i literally patted the tips of my nails with the white to create the effect of snow.

then i just whipped out my nail art polish wands and there you go! christmas lights*

i hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!!! i cant believe the time has flown by so fast!!

Tis the Season for Sparkly Nails!

Sephora By OPI Charge It and China Glaze Party Hearty
i love the holidays, and part of what makes this season so fun is all the awesome and exciting manicures you can create!!! although i have many crazy nail design ideas for the up coming weeks, i wanted to start off with something a little more simple but still pretty badass and holly jolly.
i started with two coats of Sephora by OPI's Charge It, which is a true metallic gold with no shimmer or glitter.
then i added one coat of China Glaze's Party Hearty, which is a glitter polish with large red flecks, medium sized green flecks, and tiny silver sparkles. SPREADING SOME HOLIDAY CHEER ONE NAIL AT A TIME!!!

I hope you all are enjoying the season and arent going crazy with your holiday shopping!!

Butter London "Holiday Dressing Table Worthy" Gift Set

*ok, so before i begin, i just wanna say that the lighting in these pics SUCK and i will be retaking them. i just really wanted to get this post up because this is a limited edition holiday set, and when i found mine there were only a few left. so i figured i would rather have this up so you all had a better chance of picking one up if you were interested...rather then waiting a few more days and lessening the chance of finding this beauty!

i am sporting The Black Knight from Butter London on my nails and i cant stop staring at my fingers!!! i came across this set in Nordstrom. Both Butter London and Deborah Lippman products were displayed in a random spot among the fragrance department.  as i was perusing through the gorgeous polishes, all holiday ready and glittering, i picked up a few - the party trio from Deborah Lippman caught my eye - but, i was really trying to be a good girl and my self control fairy convinced me to put everything down because i really shouldnt be buying any more polishes; especially with the holidays coming!
well, as i was pulling myself away from the sparkly bottles my eye caught this HUGE Butter London box, with an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING champagne colored iridescent glitter polish & and metallic pink shade. i picked it up and drooled over this GORGEOUS champagne glitter - but, do i really need another pink polish? especially when these two polishes are carrying a $25 price tag?
....no, im being a good girl. im being a good girl. (repeat until breathing returns)
as i put down this wonderfully exciting polish box set i see that right behind it is the same box set- with the same champagne glitter i was lusting over- but...do my eyes deceive me!???? a black multicolored shimmer polish snuggled sweetly next to the champagne glitter. IT WAS FATE. and i will stand by my rationalization to no end!!

meet Tart With A Heart - the champagne iridescent glitter polish that stole my heart and leaped into my arms begging me to give it a home.

This is the gift set, it claims that these polishes are "dressing table worthy" and boyyyyy they were not kidding. i literally refuse to put them away in my polish collection. they are too beautiful to be lost among my other lovelies - they now sit on top of my dresser next to my picture frames, and they look fantastic i must say!!
Tart With A Heart is a champagne glitter with larger iridescent glitter chunks throughout it. *i will be posting swatches of it on my nails next week*
The Black Knight is a creamy black polish chock full of multicolored SHIMMER- not glitter chunks! which is different and awesome. it has highly concentrated blue, purple, red and gold shimmers going through it - sooooo purrty <3
to tell you the truth, i have always passed Butter London by, because i refuse to spend $14 on one polish. i could never justify spending so much on a polish that could be easily duped with a drug store polish. but - these shades, specifically, i have NEVER seen before...and even though with this set you are paying $25 for a two polish gift set, i really dont feel guilty because they are just that unique. they make me smile every time a pass them. i love that they are on display in my room!
check back soon to see swatches of Tart With A Heart and hopefully some better pics that capture the true beauty of these shades!!
also, i found my set at Nordstrom, but im sure you can snag these online on either nordstrom.com or butterlondon.com - they are limited edition for the holidays so happy hunting!!

Butter Me Up Baby!

im obsessed with these things, end of story.
 top- Creme Brulee
left- Sugar Frosting, right- Pink Truffle
bottom- Cupcake
i stopped at walgreens last night, and there they were...sparkling under the florescent lights - i could resist.
Revlon Lip Butters have officially replaced all other lip products in my collection lol
Pink Truffle, Creme Brulee, Cupcake, Sugar Frosting
even though Sugar Frosting is a sheer slightly shimmery sheen for the lips, i realllllly like it...and i have been wearing it ever since i popped it open. its just so easy and give the lips a really nice moisturized look and feel. Cupcake and Creme Brulee are also great, cupcake is a bit too cool toned for my skintone, but i think once i pale out a little it will be fine! hahaha creme brulee is a great nude with a slight frost to it. i really like the warm undertones - almost peachy.
Pink Truffle is a great deeper nude, a nice fall shade. i dont know why they put the work Pink in the name, it doesnt seem to have much pink in it,,,more of a brownish nude - definitely a "my lips but better" color.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Heavy Metal & Milani Gems

so last week, i had a glitter manicure that concentrated the glitter from the top and faded down.
so this week, i figured why not invert it and see what happens!!
Sinful Colors Heavy Metal is a bright metallic raspberry red.
Milani Jewel FX in Gems is a multicolored rainbow thick concentrated glitter polish. this is part of their ONE COAT glitter polish collection. it has mostly primary colors (red, blue, green, silver) and there are about 3 different sized glitter chunks throughout this polish.
the brush on this polish is thinner then most, the idea behind the brush is that you can use it to create glitter "FX" for designs on your nails using the brush supplied, while also being able to paint your whole nail with ease.
hope your having a wonderful week!!

NOTD: OPI Dating A Royal & Servin Up Sparkle

i love glitter nails. end of story.
but sometimes the glitter nail needs a little makeover. so i decided to concentrate OPI's Servin Up Sparkle just at the tips of my nails and im lovin it!!

OPI's Dating A Royal is a creamy med-toned royal blue. its very opaque with no shimmer or sparkle. i wanted to choose a shade that wasnt questionable. when you look at my nails, you know their blue lol and i think it adds a great contrast to the iridescent glitter in Servin Up Sparkle - which is a silver glitter polish with larger iridescent chucks in it.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend - and lets not forget, LETS GO GIANTS!

Bobbi Brown Holiday 2011

so, i grabbed some stuff from the Bobbi Brown Holiday collection. and i gotta say, im super excited.
first, when i saw the new Holiday Party Shimmer Brick, i thought to myself - holy shizzle this was made for me! - A SHIMMER HIGHLIGHT WITH A MARTINI GLASS PRESSED INTO THE PRODUCT?! ummmmm...YES PLEASE.

there are a few things about this shimmer brick that i adore. first and foremost, the friggin martini glass, 'nuff said.
second, i really appreciate the fact that both colors are super accessible.  if your in the mood for gold, swipe away. if silver strikes your fancy, swatch it up. if your really ready to get the party going swirl the both together and glow it up baby!!!
both shades are gorgeous, no glitter chunks or obnoxious fall out. this product gives you a glowy affect without making you look like a christmas ornament. this thing also rocks my socks because it is so user friendly with a multitude of different ways to put it to work. highlight, eyeshadow, all over shimmer, or across your chest, you can use it anywhere and everywhere. everytime i open up the shiny black Bobbi Brown compact i have this strong urge to just burst out into song..silverrr and golddd, silver and goooold!!! in my opinion, if a holiday product doesnt make you want to break out your old school christmas movies and sing along to the classics, then its not worth your holiday bonus.

Next i grabbed the Black Ruby Sparkle Eye Palette. i couldnt resist, and believe me, i tried.
top left: Pink Rose - top right: Crushed Silver
bottom left: Black Ruby - bottom right: Onyx

in the palette, the shades are beautiful. when swatched, they really come alive!!! now, i must start off sayin that this isnt the most pigmented palette in the world. but what it lacks in saturated color it makes up for in incredible sparkle. and if sparkly seductive eyes are what your looking for, look no further. i am actually planning on using this palette for my date night tonight, i will try to post pics of what i come up with. but i think that on the eyes these shadows will look amazing, and if your in the mood for a more dark dramatic look, layering these over cream shadows or deeper shades, WOW, i can only imagine!!!

 Swatch Time!
Pink Rose, Crushed Silver, Black Ruby, Onyx
 top- onyx
Black Ruby
Crushed Silver
bottom- Pink Rose

just gold - just silver - both mixed
 top- mixed
middle - silver
 bottom- gold
gold - silver - mixed

i tried my hardest, even went outside and tried to find some sun, so i can capture the shimmer and sparkle. i dont think i was able to get these products full potential on camera. but if you find yourself near a Bobbi Brown counter i suggested you swatch them out and see for yourself! remember, these are limited edition for the holiday season - so if you are interested, move fast!!!

NEW! Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters!!

i found them!!! i got so excited when i ran into these little babies at Bed Bath and Beyond, i grabbed 6!! there has been alot of hype around these new lip butters, and now i know why! they are pretty freakin amazing. made with shea, coconut, and mango butters they glide onto your lips so smoothly! they feel great and wear nicely. i love the fact that you can layer these shades to get it them as pigmented or sheer as you like.
Revlon claims that 94% of women said their lips have become smoother after using this product. they will also be **PERMANENT** come January 2012!!!! they have been popping up in random drugstores lately, but should be easier to find after the new year...im so excited that there is no rush to get your hands on these because they will be permanent, because i definitely will be collecting all 20 shades in this collection. i also have a strong feeling that these lovelies will replace almost all of my lipsticks. LOL
i also think that the packaging is adorable too. they have the same Revlon "cushion" detail as all of the other lipsticks in the Colorburst collection. the caps are colored and frosted, and the top is clear so that you can look directly at the product in the tube. great for purchasing purposes. nothing worse then sitting in the middle of aisle 3 at CVS deciding which crappy fake swatch you like best!

Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy, Peach Parfait, Lollipop, Cherry Tart, Berry Smoothie

can you see the sheen these things give off!? they make your lips look so sexy and supple, add a great amount of color, some have a beautiful creamy finish and some have just the right amount of shimmer!!!

Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy, Peach Parfait, Lollipop, Cherry Tart, Berry Smoothie

cotton candy is a gorgeous barbie pink with gold shimmers!

peach parfait is a peachy nude with gold shimmers

Lollipop is a bright fuchsia with blue/purple shimmers!!

despite their adorable names, these lip butters have no taste or smell that i could detect. it would be pretty awesome if their taste and scent matched their sweet sounding names, but whatev, their overall performance and incredible moisturizing formulations outshine their lack of sweet scent or taste.

Small Ulta Haul

soooooo.....i got a 20% off coupon for Ulta, so technically i was obligated to do a little shopping right!!??

i was most excited to go and get the new Benefit cream highlighter, Watts Up. i have had my eyes on it for a whiiiile now, and i was going to get it during the Sephora Friends and Family Sale. but to make a long story short, i decided not to take advantage of the Sephora sale.
so when i got 20% at Ulta i figured it was a sign that i need, at least, this highlighter in my life....along with some other goodies, might as well.

im so glad i grabbed this highlighter. i am a highlighter junkie, so another highlighter for my collection is probably the last thing i need. BUUUUT, the formulation, and smoothness, and just the overall coolness of the packaging is worth it in my eyes. this is a cream-to-powder product that glides on with such smoothness, no clumping or streaking. its a champagne color that gives off a gorgeous glow. no glitter chunks, but a verrrry slight shimmer, not over powering at all. a very glow from within type of look.
whats super cool about this product is that on one side is the highlighter, and the other is a soft round sponge that is perfect for blending! yay for convenience!!! i love products that i can just throw in my purse and run out the door, user friendliness is key!
Watts Up is also awesome because you can use it alone, over foundations, powders, moisturizers...whatever. even though it is a cream, it dries to a powder finish so its super versatile. it wont end up looking muddy or smudging your already perfectly blended blush or bronzer.
top swatch is one sweep of Watts Up and Bottom swatch is one sweep of Watts Up blended out with the attached sponge.
so far i am really enjoying this product, it gets an A+ for convenience, smoothness, and glowyness.
on to the next one....Suzy Loves Cowboys!!!!

a few weeks ago i asked my cousin Jess from Hello, Polish! what she would suggest for a chocolaty brown polish. she immediately directed me to this one!!! i LOVE it!!! it is exactly what i was looking for, and oddly enough i dont have anything close to this color in my collection!!! OPI's Suzy Loves Cowboys is a dark creamy medium brown shade, it literally looks like you melted a Hersey's Bar onto your nails. LOVE IT! perfect for fall. the only gripe i have with this particular polish is its slightly watery formulation. it took 3 coats to get it completely opaque. i dont know if i just grabbed a watery batch or if its just the way this color was made, but i hardly have to use 3 coats with any of my OPI polishes. either way i still love it, im so glad Jess recommended this to me and i now have it snuggled in with the rest of my collection!

just for fun, i snagged this little gift set!
The Tarte Lip Service Limited Edition LipSurgence Collection
The Tarte automatic lip pencils have always struck my interest but i have never bit the bullet and paid the$24- $28 that come along with them. so when i saw that i can try 5 great colors for $29 i screamed "schweeeeeet" in my head (of course)! this set holds a $120 retail value, i got it for $29!!!! INCREDIBLE!
each pencil has .10 oz of product which you twist from the bottom to get more. they are so amazingly smooth and silky. they have a really nice minty scent and they give off a beautiful moisturized looking sheen.

Glitzy, Perky, Flashy, Swank, Dazzled
i believe each of these shades are part of their permanent line and you can purchase each shade individually. in all honesty, im very impressed. i like everything about these lip colors. the packaging is adorable, the scent is very pleasurable, and the shade range is great. they dont feel sticky on your lips and they have no tingle or burn even though they have a minty scent.
these particular pencils are "lip tints" which, i think, are awesomely pigmented for tints. i love it. Tarte also has matte, sheer, and color/sparkle pencils.
now that i have tried and fell in love with these lip products, i will absolutely be looking into their permanent line.if you happen to come across this gift set i 100% recommend you snag one and try them out!!!

Butter London Stiletto Stick
every time i pass the Butter London display this friggin thing always catches my eye. so now that i was armed with my 20% off coupon, i figured there's no better time then now to try it out.

Butter London says: "Dry, cracked areas will fade away, leaving a silky finish. The instant relief will become permanent with continues use. Its the easiest way to heal your heels! Roll over hard skin areas as often as needed."

i have only used this once so far, so i really have no true opinions about it yet. it does have a nice clean slightly floral scent. which is kind of a nice change from the stereotypical minty/rosemary type scents that usually come along with foot products.
the product itself looks like a solid form of vaseline in the packaging. its definitely not as greasy has vaseline, but it does have a slightly greasy feel to it.i suggest slippin on a pair of smoothing socks after applying this.ill do a follow up post about the Stiletto Stick to let you know my thoughts after i give it enough time to form an informed opinion!
has anyone used this before?? let me know!

happy haulage and happy halloween!!!!!!!!
