Random Quickie

So im sitting in a state certification class for my new job. It is the first of 7 certification programs I will have to complete to become a state employee and do therapy for autistic and behavioral problematic children. FUN.

I sit in this huge empty room, as everyone left for lunch, I decided to pass the time by sharing some beauty quirks of mine and hopefully find out some of yours! Fun right?!

1. I havent seen my fingernails bare in years. I ALWAYS have fresh polish on. I usually paint my nails about every 3-4 days...and I am not above completly painting them, stripping the color off and painting them another shade because I wasn't completely feeling the first color.

2. I apply my vintage sister lip balms about every 40 minutes. I like a certain feeling on my lips and I always keep it consistant! Not to mention I have a tin of these lip balms in every corner of my house, stuffed between the mattress and frame of my bed, and about 2 in my purse at all times. They are the best!

3. I stare at my makeup collection.

4. I never do my eyebrows. Blahhhh

5. I smell all of my products...Too Faced Chocolate Soliel bronzer smells delightful.

What are your beauty quirks?! Anything you can't skip in your routine without throwing off gut whole day?

I bought this yesterday...on a whim. SWEET.

MAC LIP BAG IN NUDE SCENE
so i was walking through nordstrom yesterday. i went to the mall on a hunt for a NEON PINK CLUTCH OR SMALL BAG which i cant freakin find to save my life! neons are in this summer, every freakin store has like a whole section dedicated to neon shit...yet i gotta go on a wild goose chase to find a freakin neon pink bag!!! are you kidding me!???? needless to say, the search goes on....and if ANYONE happens to know where i can find a flippin pink bag, let me know!!!!!
....but i digress.

so of course, i have to walk by the MAC counter, not to mention im like close friends with the manager there...simply because i go there so often hahaha we went at MAC, no where else, and we have become good friends....is that a sign that i MAC haul way too often??? lol

anywayyssssss.....MAC came out with 4 lip bag collections, which are ALL GORGEOUS. for $38 you get a bag, lipstick, a dazzleglass lipgloss, and a retractable lipliner - not a pencil liner, the ones that are in plastic packaging that twist up and down.
Lipstick in Nude Scene, Dazzleglass in Lightly Prancing, Lipliner in Sublime Culture

Nude Scene is BEAUTIFUL. its a cremesheen with shimmer in it!! gorgeous nude color with a pink iridescence! i like the formual of this shade because unlike other cremesheen lipsticks, like Creme d'Nude, i dont fear that it will melt to a disgusting disaster at the first sign of heat. im assuming because of the shimmer it has more body to it, i dont wanna use the word "hard" because it does go on the lips smooth and soft...but the product itself has more structure to it then more other cremesheen shades. thats a plus in my book!
Lightly Prancing is also a hit. very pretty nude lipgloss with golden shimmer it in. it somewhat reminds me of the dazzleglass creme in sublime shine, but its definitely lighter then that. like all MAC lip products both the lipstick and this dazzleglass has the light vanilla-cakey scent which i adore....it also has a brush tip applicator which makes for much better application with a shimmer packed think gloss like this one.
seriously, with the obnoxious amount of lip product i own can you believe that i do NOT own one lipliner!? its never really been my thing, and even when buying this set, i never even swatched the liner when at the store!! but, now that i have swatched it for you lovely people i might actually take a crack at the whole lipliner thaaang. i think the color is super pretty, this liner goes on soooo smooth and it ads such nice dimension to this nude lip. i also like that its retractable and user friendly. ANDDDDDDD before i forget, after i swatched these products i ran my arm under water and scrubbed everything off with a paper towel....let me just tell you this liner still hasnt moved! are all liners like this? cause i really wouldnt know LOL but it did impress me to the fullest with its staying power! now im on my way to the gym with a lipliner stained arm that frightingly resembles a suicide attempt. JUST AWESOME.

the bag is nothing to write home about...its a small back jean bag with nude colored lining. i do like the fact that the zipper goes from end to end and its opens really wide, makes for easy searching and quick grabbing. i think its a great size to throw in your purse and hold enough for your daily essentials.
its also a square shaped bag, which is pretty cute and different.

all in all, im reallt happy about my random out of the blue purchase. all four of the sets in this collection are super pretty, and if i were richy rich rich i would have grabbed all of them. check out www.maccosmetics.com if your interested in the other colors...they are in stores and on counters now and im not sure how long they will be there...i know they are coming out with some new collections soon, so i dont know if these will be bumped or not. but i suggest you get in your car now if you are truly interested in checkin these out because we all know how MAC products fly off the shelves. there are way too many makeup obsessed chicks out there...but of course i wouldnt know anything about that ::wink wink:: LOL

NOTD: Revlon Top Speed in Peachy

WOW. Honestly, my nails have never been completely painted and dried in such a short amount of time! This is my first experience with the top speed formula. It definitely lives up to its name. By the time I was done painting my 5th nail, my hand was ready for the second coat! It goes on so opaque and streak free with just one coat! And it dries with a nice sheen! Im a fan of a high gloss finish, so I did put a layer of seche veet over peachy...but I could absolutely see just throwing two coats of this polish on and walking out the door!

Overall I really like the formula of these polishes and this specific color. I really wish this collection had a better color range though, all the shades I have seen are pretty basic...very pretty...but nothing exciting.

NOTD: Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Im a fan of this shade....I just wish it was a pinch brighter, maybe even leaning more towards the neon side. That would be HOT.

I feel like this specific formula is different from other Essie polishes. This goes on streak free and super opaque, it also seems alot less goopy then other polishes. Its an amazing formula, I wish other Essie colors would follow in the same formula footsteps...im talking to you Figi!!!

Too Faced Palettes! Natural Eye, Naked Eye, Romantic Eye

i am a huge fan of Too faced Cosmetics, and i think they have ALOT of amazing products...but these palettes, in my opinion, are their very best - they are great for everyone , every skintone, and for every look. a total hit!
they actually carry 4 of these boxed palettes in their line, the only one i dont own is the smokey eye palette. that one never talked to me. i have looked at it a buuuunch of times over the years and i just cant bring myself to pick it up. its got some gorgeous pigmented shades, but i just dont think its for me. you can check the smokey palette out, along with these three palettes at www.toofaced.com and www.sephora.com
THE NATURAL EYE PALETTE
the first of these palettes i picked up about 2 years ago, it introduced me to the world of too faced shadows and inevitably kicked off my love/obsession for these palettes. the natural eye palette, is as close to perfect as you can be with a combination of eye shadows. each shades is gorgeous, pigmented and for the most part, soft and buttery. the ONLY gripe i have with this palette is that Nude Beach, even though its a beautiful shade, has alot of fall out. i mean i have glitter all over my face when im done using this, i just wipe my face with  a makeup remover wipe, but u can alot use the loose powder trick - where you swipe a think amount of loose powder under your eyes before you do your eye makeup & it catches all the fallout from your shadows, when you brush it away you should have clean cheeks.
each palette comes with 3 "how-to" cards that explain how to achieve 3 different looks using the shadows in each box. obviously you can create TONS of different looks by mixing and matching any of the 9 colors provided. i think its more fun that way!!

**all swatches were done on bare skin with no primer at all - holy pigmentation batman!**

ugh! i hate when i cant capture the true beauty of each color!!
Top: (Day) Heaven, Velvet Revolver, Sexspresso
Middle: (Classic) Silk Teddy, Push-up, Erotica
Bottom: (Fashion) Nude Beach, Honey Pot, Cocoa Puff
my favorite colors in this palette are Push Up, Silk Teddy, Cocoa Puff, and Honey Pot.
each of the 3 "Day" shades are all Matte, velvet revolver is a pretty all over lid color, light crease color, or a blender type shade that you can use to mesh any two shades together. Silk Teddy and Push Up are AMAZING pearl/metallic shades with no glitter. Erotica is a brown with grey undertones that had gold shimmers through it - so pretty. Nude Beach as i mentioned before, has alot of glitter - but alot of fall out.  Honey Pot is a no glitter, metallic shade - true gold. and Cocoa Puff is a chocolaty brown with gold shimmers.
any skintone, any age, and look - this palette is a great pick.

THE NAKED EYE PALETTE
after falling in love with the natural palette, i pretty much lunged at this palette in the middle of sephora when i saw it. this is also a GREAT piece to own. i have gone away on long weekends and just brought this palette with me, and i was good to go! you can create so many looks, sexy smokey date night eyes or subtle flirty "just going to starbucks" type eyes. this palette has got you covered!

Top: (Day) In The Buff, Pillow Talk, Like A Virgin
Middle: (Classic) Birthday Suit, Satin Sheets, Unmentionables
Bottom: (Fashion) Pink Cheeks, Lap Dance, Stiletto
My favs in this collection are Satin Sheets, Birthday Suit, Pink Cheeks, and Lap Dance. similar to the natural eye, the 3 day shades in the naked eye are mostly matte shades - Pillow Talk has a super slight shimmer to it. Satin Sheets is FREAKIN GORGEOUS. its a baby pink with a gold duo-chrome, perfect for any look, i find myself picking up this palette sometimes, just for Satin Sheets.
i love how this palette comes with a stark black, it just makes any look you want to create using these shades a little more sultry.
also, a great buy - if your not into golds and browns, you may wanna skip out on the natural eye and go for this naked eye palette. again, any skintone any age any look - this palette got yo back!

THE ROMANTIC EYE PALETTE
since i was now having a love affair with both the natural eye and the naked eye palettes, i couldnt wait to get my hands on the romantic eye palette when it came out. this is the newest of the Too Faced Boxed Palettes, and it may be the cool kid out of the group. it contains a slighting wider color range, featuring purples, pinks, and greens.
i like the packing on this palette so much better then the other two. it still features the 3 "how-to" cards, but it is much thinner then the other two palettes, which i will post a picture of.
Top: (Day) Soulmates, I Do, Un-Veil
Middle: (Classic) Kiss the Bride, Cut The Cake, First Dance
Bottom: (Fashion) Bouquet Toss, Honeymoon, Ever After
first of all, arent all the lovey dovey names the cutest thing ever?! i love that about this palette, really creative and sweet. my favorite shades in this palette are Soulmates, which is a pale yellow with a pink duo-chrome (also incredible as a highlight!), Cut The Cake- which is a metallic icy grey with a slightly pinkish irredescence, and Honeymoon - which is a SUPER pigmented metallic goldish-green. all of these colors are buttery and blendable. because there is more of a color range in this box, you can create a multitude of different looks to match outfits, accessories, whatever. with the other two palettes, the shades are all in the same color family. in this palette you can do a purple look, a green look, brown, neutral, whatever! fun times people!

as always, you can click on any picture to enlarge it. if your a makeup junkie and you dont already have these in your collection, i recommend you pick one up...and i dare you not to purchase another one!!! hahaha
if your just starting out with makeup, figure out which look/colors you like best on yourself - browns or greys - and try out either the naked or the natural eye.
here is the hight difference between the palettes. for some reason, i think that they are now packaging all of the palettes the same way as the romantic eye is packaged...but i could be lying lol dont quote me on that! pretty bulky, but i have no problem dealing with bulk as long as the product inside packs a punch!

Inspire Me!

I seriously don't know which outfit I would choose if I was forced to pick just one. I feel like all three scream PRINCESS! I guess I would go with the black dress, those pink shoes are not something to pass up, mt favorite color, so girlie and soft.

I might have to put my bridesmaids in similar ensembles!

Ugh. But isn't that nude nail color in the center GORGEOUS?! yes. Yes it is.

Which is your fav?! Subscribe and let me know lovelies!!!

NOTD: Orly Kiss the Bride & Sephora by OPI Its Bouquet With Me

ORLY kiss the bride is a suuuuuuper pale pink, im really into the really nude colors lately. Orly's pure porcelain is my all time fav. Kiss the bride is in the same family as pure porcelain but it definitely pulls more creamy pink. Very pretty.

I topped kiss the bride with 1 layer of Sephora by OPI's Its Bouquet With Me. Pretty much pink, purple, and irredescent sparkles! I think its a nice combo, not too over the top...not too subtle.

Whatcha think?
